Supporting and empowering youth is one of the most powerful investments a community can make. Guided by this belief, during Bonomi Industries’ 70th anniversary celebration, Luciano and Sandro Bonomi announced the establishment of the "Silvio Bonomi Scholarship" for the children of team members, aligning with the company's principles of commitment and merit.
On October 30th, Bonomi Industries proudly awarded scholarships to 10 talented students, recognizing their hard work and achievements in front of their families and members of the company management.
Luciano and Sandro, joined by their mother, shared inspiring stories of Silvio Bonomi’s journey. Orphaned as a child, Silvio left school at the age of 13 to support his family, taking on physically demanding jobs but fueled by immense passion and a strong desire to learn. His determination led him to obtain a diploma in mechanics through correspondence courses.
At just 21, Silvio’s resilience and entrepreneurial spirit drove him to establish the company with his younger brother in a modest basement in Lumezzane. This humble beginning laid the foundation for what has grown into today’s headquarters in Mazzano, branches in the U.S. and Japan, and contributions from nearly 800 employees over the years.
Reflecting on his father’s legacy, Luciano emphasized the power of persistence, learning, and resilience, expressing the Bonomi family’s pride in these young students. “Silvio, too, would have congratulated you and thanked you for being here”, he shared.
Sandro Bonomi encouraged the students to trust in their abilities and follow their aspirations. “Don’t let anyone hold you back” he urged, emphasizing the value of surrounding oneself with supportive people.
Through his example of commitment and dedication, Silvio Bonomi instilled in the company the values it now recognizes and rewards in young students who embody them. With this initiative, Bonomi Industries honors Silvio’s legacy, the principles on which the company was founded, and which will continue to guide its future growth.
